Hello, beautiful.

Hey guys! I know that is has been awhile, I have a lot happen to my and my family this year so I stayed away from social media for the most part.

Sadly, this year took away my stepfather… He lost his battle with cancer affecting his whole body at the end. I am still a little sore about that but as the days go by I am getting better.

As far as school goes, I am doing really great and I am glad to say that I will be graduating in Fall 2016!!!!

I have also thought about starting up a YouTube channel. I love to write but I think on camera things will come to my faster and posting will be easier. If I do decide to go this route I will most definitely let you guys know since you were with me in the beginning!

For 2016, I vow to make more time for the things in my life that mean the most to me. Even though I am not on here as much as I want to be, this blog means a lot to me so I will TRY to post more often.

I just wanted to hop on here and wish all of you that are still with me a very amazing New Year and that all your dreams and aspirations’ come to fruition! Keep on blogging and making your mark in this world and I will see you all in the new year!

As always,

Stay fab!! XOX

Tory Burch Thea Crossbody Bag Review

A few months ago I started checking out what Tradesy had to offer…If you haven’t heard of Tradesy, it’s a place to sell high end pieces from your closet in NWT condition or lightly used condition. And also buy items at 50-70% off the retail value and all items are screened for authenticity. img-thing

After strong consideration I chose the Tory Burch Thea Cross body Bag in Porcelain Pink.

Not only is this piece a gorgeous light pink color, it has an abundance of space and pockets. tory-burch-pink-purple-thea-cross-body-bag-product-4-15105220-125677573_large_flexLike the Chanel Classic Flap Bag this one has a pocket on the back which I use to store my iPhone 6 giving me easier access to it. I hate having to rummage through my bag to retrieve my phone before the call is missed.

I hadn’t really worn it much during the winter but now that it’s spring and pastels will be on the rise, I think it’s the perfect time for this beautiful piece. tory-burch-porcelain-pink-thea-crossbody-saddle-bag-porcelain-pink-product-2-14749278-853948542_large_flexInside there are 4 more pockets with one on the side with a zipper for your unmentionables. The lining is the signature Tory Burch symbol in a lighter shade of pink to compliment the porcelain pink calf leather outer shell.

There’s one problem though….

I have had a nightmare of a time finding the matching Thea wallet! If you happen to come across one pleaseeeee link me!

But the pros out weight the cons on this one…

Plus I love the added accessory the removable leather tassel gives as well as the gold hardware as I am trying to incorporate gold into my wardrobe!

If you are looking for your next designer duds please check out Tradesy for big savings!

(No, I am not commissioned by Tradesy, I am however a fan of the site and love the savings I got on this purse.)

Until Next Time,

Justine’s questions…

What made you want to start blogging? I started blogging to get my point of view on fashion and beauty out there. I am a fashion marketing major and I want to work in editorial and/or runway also I want to be a personal stylist so that was another reason, just to gain exposure and a following.

Who is the most important person in your life? This one is hard since I have a husband and 2 sons but I would have to say my daddy, I am and always will be a Daddy’s Girl.

If you had to live on an island for the rest of your life what are 3 things you would take? Hotspot for wifi, my laptop, and food

If you had one wish what would it be and why? To be successful. Me and my cousin are the first to go to college, and she has graduated and it’s my turn next. To graduate would make my family so proud.

What are you looking forward to most this year? I can’t pinpoint one thing but going to Seattle to see my best friends in June is on the top of the list.

What is your favourite brand for skin care products? Right now I am on prescription meds for my face but my favorite cleanser right now is St. Ive’s apricot scrub.

Which YouTuber would you love to collab with? Sarahbelle93X, I love watching her videos and her personality seems amazing.

Whats your favourite shop and favorite place to shop online? My favorite shop right now is Windsor, and my favorite online would have to be Tradesy.

If you could only have 1 hairstyle for the rest of your life, what would it be? I would probably opt to just wear my hair down always lol…

My nominee’s:

Bed Rest From Oral Surgery

So Friday I underwent a much needed surgery to remove my wisdom teeth as well as prewisdom’s…. I figured I would give you lovelies a heads up because all I have been doing the past 2 days is sleeping…

Also Friday was the last day of classes for my first quarter at AI :). I am so proud of myself! If you didn’t know, Art Institute classes are 11 weeks on campus or 6 weeks if classes are online. Normal colleges go by semesters which are 16 weeks! So yeah, my brain was mush by Friday with all the creativity and projects I had during the quarter.

Tomorrow, I hope to get on track with blogging again since that will be 72 hours since had surgery and things should be healed enough to not have to take meds lol. Also I will be doing a photo blog of my cousins visit here to CA from NY… Super excited about that plus it’s SPRING BREAK!! YAY!

Until Next Time,

FBW: Spotlight – Ariell Fashion ETC

Before I begin this next spotlight featuring Ariell, I would like to just thank all the bloggers who allowed me to interview them as well as any bloggers who I in1795285_10152347360085731_8927225833790711470_o (2)terview in the future. FBW: Spotlight has been a fun experience especially with meeting new bloggers!

Now with further ado, I would like to introduce Ariell of “Ariell Fashion ETC” I enjoyed reading her point of view on blogging and vintage personal style. Check her answers out and please be sure to follow!

Shop Girl: What made you want to begin blogging?
Ariell: Blogging is an excellent platform to share my passion for fashion and style, while being creative. It’s a way to join a community that actually wants to hear what you have to say and see what you bring to the table! It’s an exciting world to join, and you learn something at each step. So far, it’s been a fun journey!

SG: How long have you been on WordPress?

AB: I’ve only been on WordPress for a little over a week!

SG: What makes you love fashion so much? And what are your top 5 brands?

AB: To understand what makes me love fashion so much, you have to look no further than my very first (actually, second, but who’s counting) post on WordPress titled “The Birth of this Fashion Blog.” My top 5 brands are Mossimo (available at Target, Old Navy, and American Eagle Outfitters), Divided (available at H&M, one of my favorite stores that I have also talked about on WordPress), Nasty Gal.com, Urban Outfitters, and American Apparel. I should also mention that I wear so much of my mother’s vintage clothing from the 1970s and later! She is definitely a style icon in my life, and she passed her love of fashion down to me.

SG: What are your go-to beauty items? (Cosmetics, Beauty products, etc.)

AB: I try to choose makeup that is safe for my skin and body, along with the environment. Lately, I have been wearing Gabriel Color eye liner from Whole Foods’ Whole Body store, and I have been using (also from Whole Foods) Allafia’s Everyday Shea face creams for daytime (with spf) and nighttime, as well as their Everyday Shea shampoo and conditioner. I feel better taking a break from some of the long-named chemicals on the labels of beauty products I wore for much of my teenage/early adult years. I am choosing instead more natural alternatives that may be better for my body and the environment. I also like that Allafia states right on their bottles that they give some of their profits to help pregnant women and school children in Togo, Africa. Their face creams also particularly smell sweet and amazing!

SG: What are you aspirations for your blog?

AB: Right now, I have only been on WordPress for a little over a week, and I have loved every minute of it so far. I can only hope I will continue to post and grow my audience well into the future!

SG: What is your personal style?

AB: My personal style is fun, unique, and imaginative. I do not like to feel restricted by only following trends. I usually dress in clothing I’m comfortable in and that makes me feel good about myself. I love wearing clothing that is not too boring or safe, but instead shows that I put thought into putting my outfit together. I also wear lots of my mother’s clothing from the 1970’s and later!

SG: What is one thing readers should know about you and your blog?

AB: I would like my blog to remind people that fashion can be fun! It does not have to just be about following rules!

Sephora’s Color IQ

left side

So recently I posted about a make-over a friend gave me who works at Sephora, from that post I got a lot of questions about how I was able to make my foundation so flawlessly!? (Click HERE to read that post)

Well here is the answer my loves…..:

Sephora + Pantone Color IQ

So what exactly is this and how does it work?

As fashionistas I am sure you have heard about Pantone, they are the leaders in the quest for the yearly color of the year, in which the color of this year is Marsala (which I love!!!). Using their same technology to get an exact color reading Sephora is now able to match your skin tone to your exact color. No two people are exactly the same and neither is their skin tone. What works for your bestie might be too light or too dark.

Anyways lol, once you’ve recieved your match and log online a list of perfect foundations for your skin will appear when searched. I love the fact that Sephora shows every brand and every price point making it easier on the wallet when you don’t want to splurge.

Screenshot (4)

Also if you can’t get to the store you can go to Sephora Color IQ and receive yours online! Yay for conveniences!

I hope this post helps you to find your perfect flawless coverage!

Until Next Time,

FBW Spotlight – JaydeDanielle

For my next spotlight I’ve chosen JaydeDanielle me2who is fairly new to the blogging world but dabbles in a little of everything from beauty & fashion to everyday life. Without further ado let’s see what she had to say when I interviewed her!

ShopGirl: What made you want to begin blogging?
JaydeDanielle: I wanted to start a blog so long ago I just never got around to it. I suppose I was scared to share my opinions on the internet where people can sometimes be so harshly judged. I mean, I know I’m not the greatest writer and i don’t know all the “technical terms”. But then one day I thought, “Why am I letting that stop me if I really want to do it?”. I have always loved writing, that combined with my love for all things Beauty and Fashion related and always going on and on to my friends about the recent things I’ve purchased, telling them what’s good and bad about them and how they should try them. I figured why not start a blog so others can see that too?

SG:How long have you been on WordPress?
JD: I started my blog on March 12th 2015. So 2 weeks.

SG:What makes you love fashion so much? And what
are your top 5 brands?
JD: I love fashion because you can express your personality through the clothes that you wear. When I go shopping I like to buy lots of different things instead of spending a lot of money on one item of clothing. So based on that my favourite brands are:

1. Topshop
2. Miss Selfridge
3. Primark
4. Forever 21
5. Boohoo

SG:What are your go-to beauty items? (Cosmetics, Beauty products, etc.)?
JD: St Moriz Tan, Mascara (I’m loving Max Factor masterpiece transform at the minute) Nuxe creme de fraiche mask. And sweetie pie shower jelly fron lush.

SG: What are your aspirations for your blog?
JD: As I’ve only recently started my blog it would be silly of me to say “for this to be my career” I could be posting on this blog for 12 years and never be able to make it. Although that is what i would love as blogging is a passion and to have that as a job would be incredible. But realistically I would say to carry on writing and hope that others enjoy reading it as much as I love writing it.

SG:What is your personal style?
JD: Girly, comfortable and chic. I follow the latest trends but I don’t let them dictate what I wear. I will only wear what I like and feel comfortable in.

SG:What is one thing readers should know about you and your blog?
JD: My blog is a place for me to write about things that I love. Whether this be what restaurant I’ve recently ate at. Or my current favourite bath bomb. I may have just brought some candles and wanted to share this with you. It has a lot of variety, although it is mainly fashion and beauty I will throw other things in the mix too. I try to post at least 4 times a week.

Please check out the lovely JaydeDanielle, you can also find her on twitter @JaydeDanielle1. Thank you so much for allowing me to interview you and showcase your blog, feel free to share the post. XOX

Also, if you would like to be spotlighted please email me at: Shop_girl1986@aol.com or tweet me on twitter for details @Shop_Girl1986.

FBW Spotlight – A Diamond To Remember

Earlier I posted that I wanted to spotlight/interview other bloggers and so first up is Katherine of A Diamond To Remember.Processed with VSCOcam with b1 presetI love how fun and glitzy-girly her blog and style is and you can tell she has a strong passion for fashion. In our email correspondence I sent a few questions and here is what this Eastcoast meets Westcoast fashionista/model had to say:

  • ShopGirl: What made you want to begin blogging?
  • A Diamond To Remember: I have always been a writer and studied it in college. What made me want to begin blogging was the idea of bringing relevant information to the fashion community about modeling. I have been pursuing it my whole life and wanted to give people the inside scoop on what goes on in this profession. I have always loved playing dress-up ever since I was little and enjoy sharing my personal style with others as well! ❤
  • SG: How long have you been on WordPress?
  • ADTR: I have been on WordPress for almost a year!
  • SG: What makes you love fashion so much? And what are your top 5 brands?
  • ADTR: I love fashion in the sense that it is the outward and creative expression of who I am. I am inspired mostly by the work of Anna Wintour and reading the street style column by Bill Cunningham every Sunday. NY and LA fashion are my absolute faves. I am from NJ and always loved shopping for high fashion at the Short Hills Mall! My top five brands are as follows: Balmain, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Moschino, and Louis Vuitton.
  • SG:What are your go-to beauty items (Cosmetics, Beauty products, etc.)?
  • ADTR: Go-to beauty products:
  • 1. Angel and Alien perfumes by Thierry Mugler
  • 2. Revlon Color-Stay Lipstick Crayon in stand-out pink
  • 3. Biolage Matrix Shampoo, Conditioner, and Conditioning Mask
  • 4. Benefit Mascara
  • 5. Seacret Mud Soap and Sea Salt Bath
  • SG: What are you aspirations for your blog?
  • ADTR: I want to gain worldwide exposure and get access to publications like Vogue.
  • SG: What is your personal style?
  • ADTR: I love Swarovski crystals on everything, since I am from NJ! I love to be girly and wear heels, dresses, and skirts. You can always find me sporting Barbie pink acrylic nails. My dream handbag is the Hermes Birkin bag. I am always toting around either a Gucci brown and striped monogram vintage bag or a Dolce & Gabbana gold shoulder bag with a gold chain strap. I am inspired by the Barbie runway collection by Moschino! It’s all about pink, pink, and more pink. ❤
  • SG: What is one thing readers should know about you and your blog?
  • ADTR: I am bringing east coast fashion to SF. The style here is pretty eclectic, but my go-to style is NY Vogue all the way!

I would like to thank A Diamond To Remember for allowing me to spotlight her and for her amazing in dept answers! Please check out her blog and subscribe, also you can find her on Instagram: katherinekarr17.
